The Compliance Assessment Audit Tool identifies non-compliance in five main areas: Management and Structure, Human Resources (Risk factors), Operations, Training and Site Safety, providing relevant and current written Policies, Procedures and Instructions where required. More importantly, employees and top Management understand and apply these procedures through effective Templates. Gap analysis could be beneficial and used to improve the safety systems and introduce new processes where necessary.

All Operators, Juristic Persons (Owner, Responsible person, Manager, Agent, Contractor, and Sub-contractor), Consignors and Consignees must comply with the requirements of Sections 49, 74A, 74B and Regulations 236, 237, 330A-D with regards to the loading, transportation of goods and off-loading of vehicles. Interpretation of Regulations 236 & 237 can be very complex.
Incorrect assessment shall lead to: Inaccurate costing and wrong procurement of vehicles (A very costly exercise when tendering), Prosecution, Downtime to rectify loads, Civil claims, Premature wear on vehicle components (Suspension and Brakes), Premature wear on Tyres and Tyre blow-outs causing damage or contributing to accidents, Inaccurate Payload resulting in Overloading or Under-loading (Losing revenue), Incorrect Distribution of Loads causing Instability and wheel lock-up, losing AARTO Demerit Points causing suspension of Operator Cards, Licenses and Permits!

The Code of Best Practices gives all role-players clear guidelines on how it should be managed and applied to establish their reasonable practicable and reasonable steps of Defence for those areas of non-compliance, as identified through the Compliance Assessment. It has the necessary tools to achieve the objectives of risk identification, analysis, mitigation, and monitoring and manage the risk in transport operations for YOU!
The COP ensures that all participants know their respective accountabilities and responsibilities in the supply chain, controlling or influencing safe and legal transportation. Not only does this produce a transparent and equitable alignment of responsibility for the carriage of goods within the supply chain against the relevant standards and regulations, but it also induces higher standards of accountability and good practice within the industry.
The Code does not remove the obligation to comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Full compliance with this Code ensures appropriate and efficient risk management contributing to Fit for Purpose Operators, Juristic Persons, Vehicles, Drivers, Consignors, Consignees and Related Parties.

Route Risk Assessment

Potentially dangerous routes and routes most often travelled must be assessed for possible threats or factors contributing to crashes or incidents allocating Risk values to potential threats with practicable solutions to eliminate or significantly mitigate the problem. Mitigate Route Risk by using the TTS HIME method to analyse their likelihood and potential consequences. Management must inform drivers and all relevant operational staff of the potential risks and identify methods to eliminate or mitigate the threats. The HIME process updates managers continuously on the progress of managing road risks. The HIME process can be done internally or by TTS experts.

AARTO App – Protect Your Points

Let us protect your Points! Vehicle and Driver’s Licenses and Operator Cards from Suspension
When is AARTO a valuable Asset, and when is it a Threat? AARTO shall not have any effect on Companies complying with ALL relevant Legislation. However, companies involved in logistic operations must manage the AARTO process with the necessary backing of complying drivers and vehicles to avoid losing Driver’s licenses, permits, vehicle licenses, and operator cards through Demerit Points! AARTO is a “Procedural and Substantive” system. Managing the process accurately when contesting infringements can only succeed if the evidence supports the challenge, especially regarding vehicle roadworthiness and loading correctly, as prescribed in Sections 236 & 237 of the NRTA.
TTS developed the AARTO App, which manages the complete process from receiving Infringement Notices, Courtesy Letters, and Enforcement Orders to sending Representations to the RTIA, Reviews to the Tribunal and court procedures for the Operator/Juristic Person and the Driver. Demerit Points are monitored with warning signals sent to the relevant persons when the prospect of exceeding points arises and disciplinary processes where necessary!
